FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Tom Fooshee Takes Top Spot at
“Cowtown Cup” Wakeboard Rail Jam

Fort Worth - TX (JANUARY 2008) – A dozen of the top wakeboarders and wakeskaters in the state gathered at the Fort Worth Convention Center last weekend to compete in the Cowtown Cup Wakeboard Rail Jam. It all took place during the 53rd Annual Fort Worth Boat and Sport Show presented by Thornhill Nissan. It was the third year in a row that an indoor rail jam was featured at the show, but the first time that it was a full-blown competition. The boat show put up a $1000 purse and, in their continuing efforts to support the sport, all of the rail jam sponsors matched it to bring the total haul to $2000!

On Saturday, the riders were split in to two heats of six (6) with the top four (4) in each advancing to Sundays semi-finals. The first heat saw Duston Swafford, Earl Ball, Gabe Lucas and Clint Tompkins move on. In heat #2 it was Tom Fooshee, Bret Little, Rusty Scott and Keith Holly who made it through.

On Sunday morning, the eight semi-finalists did a random drawing to determine which of two heats they would be in. The top two (2) in each heat would move on to the finals that afternoon. When the dust settled, it was Fooshee, Ball and Scott on wakeboards and Texas wakeskate phenom Bret Little who would be battling it out for their share of the $2000 purse.

All of the riders killed it in the finals and everyone would get paid, but it was the Austin crew that scooped the top three spots. Liquid Force Pro and 2007 WWA Wake Park Champion, Tom Fooshee, took home the big check for $1000 when he went front board 270 to back-lip and back 90 out. His friend and roommate, Bret Little, also made rent money when he back lipped the entire 40 foot Monster Energy Rail on a wakeskate and landed clean. He pocked $500 for his efforts. Earl Ball took third with a board-slide to back-side 270 out and DFW local, Rusty Scott rounded out the top four.

The Cowtown Cup Wakeboard Rail Jam competition was made possible with support from Waterski Boats Dallas (Supra/Moomba), Waterski America (Malibu), Texas Mastercraft, Fun & Sun (Centurion), Woly Board Company, Thornhill Nissan, H20 Clothing and the Fort Worth Boat Show.

The event was produced by Geiger Media in association with Innovation Event Management. The rail jam set-up, was provided by Dallas based Ridin Rails, LLC.

Cold Temps

In case you haven't noticed, the temps have been very cold lately, and the forecast is showing for more of the same weather. Well, this is just a friendly reminder that if your boat has not been winterized, you may want to consider getting that done very soon.

We have already had quite a few nights where the temperature did get cold enough to cause engine damage. If you have any concern for your boat whatsoever, you may want to give us a call to schedule an appointment to get your boat winterized!

Say no to engine damage!

Cowtown Cup

“Cowtown Cup” Wakeboard Rail Jam Competition To Be Featured at Fort Worth Boat and Sport Show Fort Worth - TX (JANUARY 2008) –

The 53rd Annual Fort Worth Boat and Sport Show presented by Thornhill Nissan returns to the Fort Worth Convention Center January 17th-20th. In addition to featuring the 2008 line-up of boats and boating accessories, the show will once again play host to an exciting Indoor Wakeboard Rail Jam! Last years Rail Jam Demo featured some of the top riders in the state and was definitely considered one of the highlights of.... the show. This year’s event will be a full-blown competition- “The Cowtown Cup” - with a $1000.00 cash purse up for grabs! The rail jam set-up, provided by Dallas based Ridin Rails, includes two portable pools filled with over 50,000 gallons of water and separated by two forty foot rails. Riders perform tricks as they are pulled across the 200 foot course by a high-speed gas-powered winch. Sliding or grinding on rails has been a part of wakeboarding for the past few years but until recently, it has all happened behind a boat on a lake. Now, with the use of portable pools and a high speed winch, instead of watching the riders from 100 yards away on the shore, spectators can be just a few feet from the action! Practice sessions will take place on Thursday and Friday evening, qualifying on Saturday and finals on Sunday. One paid admission gives you unlimited re-entry all weekend so you can catch all the action! The “Cowtown Cup” Wakeboard Rail Jam Competition is made possible with support from Waterski Boats Dallas, Texas Mastercraft & Chaparral, Waterski America, Woly Board Company, Thornhill Nissan and the Fort Worth Boat Show. The event is being produced by Geiger Media in association with Innovative Event Management. For more information on Boat Show times, ticket prices, directions, etc. visit http://www.fortworthboatshow.com/

Dallas Boat Show Rumors

Well, the rumor mill is running right now, and I will let you in on the latest! Ronix let me know last night that we can look for Chad Sharpe and Parks Bonifay at the Dallas Winter Boat Show at Dallas Market Hall on February 1 - 10th!
Many of you probably got to meet Chad last year while he was haning out in the WSBD Booth. Well, look for him on the first weekend of the show this year! And don't forget, Chad recently won 2007 Wake Award for Wakeboarding's Move of the Year! His Toeside Indy Double Back Roll was landed just days before the Wake Awards and overshadowed many other incredible tricks that were landed throughout the year! If you get the chance, come on by and visit with Chad. He will be more than happy to spend some time with you!
We should see Parks at the show on the second weekend as well! Parks was in attendance at the Wake Awards as well, and he didn't walk away empty handed! Parks won the Legend Award, and for good reason too! (Previous winners of the Legend Award are Scott Byerly, Shuan Murray and Darin Shapiro.) Parks has been at the top of the wakeboarding world for 15 years now. Not only did he win the Pro Wakeboard Tour Title 5 times, he landed wakeboarding's first 1080 in 1999, a trick that wasn't landed again by anyone for 7 years! Parks' name "has become synonymous with the sport" due to his progression, innovation and attitude!
Don't miss these guys at the Dallas Winter Boat Show in the WSBD Booth! Chad and Parks are coming here to see you, so come on out and visit them!

Thanks!

Alliance Gear Guide

The latest issue of Alliance Wakeboard Magazine has made it to Waterski Boats Dallas! This issue is a "Must Grab" because it is the annual Gear Guide, featuring all of the new 2008 products! And when I say all, I mean everything from Boards to Bindings to Boats to Vests to Ropes to Handles to Speakers to...well, the list keeps going.

Here is what Bill McCaffray has to say in his first paragraph in the intro section..
"Every year we build this gear guide with the intention that you, the local ripper, dedicated enthusiast, weekender and shop guy have the most complete wakeboarding and wakeskating reference guide assembled each year. There are at least five products in this issue that you will need in order to be ready for the new season."

The only thing that I have found wrong with Bill's statement is that I have found at least 10 things I cannot live without!

Stop by and pick up your copy! After all, they are free!

Thanks!

McFly
