2008 Hyperlite is Here!

Waterski Boats Dallas has received quite a bit of the new 2008 HO Sports/Hyperlite Gear!

Although a few of the much anticipated items are still a few weeks out, the Wake Skis have arrived! The Wake Skis from HO Sports are a new deminision of skiing! You’ve got to agree that Wake Skiing makes perfect sense. Since you do, you’ll be stoked to know the HO Wake Skis will meet your every riding desire. At 145cm long they can accommodate bigger guys but the thin profile makes them easy for anyone to throw around. The skis have a continuous rocker of 2.25” which keep them fast and the kick tips ensure you’ll get the maximum pop off any wake. The channels actually curve in a bit before they exit the board helping the ski carve and approach the wake. Equipped with small fins at both ends make riding switch a breeze and each ski has a soft landing spine beneath each foot for big airs. The progression of this budding sport is going to happen fast, so get yours soon and turn some heads on your lake.

We have also received most of the new Women's Boards, including the Blur and the Eden. The Blur has been paired with the new Blur Bindings, while the Eden has it's own Eden Binding. We are still waiting on the Opal Board with the Eden Bindings, but the wait shouldn't be much longer!

Although the Pro Model Boards are usually the last to arrive, we did receive JD Webb's new B-Side Board. This board is a totally new design that is a must see for this year!

Shaun Murray has come out with a newly designed closed toe binding as well. They are available in both black or white, and they have removable custom fit stiffiners and fit rise pads to create the perfect fit for your foot.

Last but not least, the new 109 and 119 Boys and Girls Board and Binding Combos are in stock! These make the perfect Holiday Gift for your little wakeboarder in your family!

The Show Room is Set!

Well, we spent all day on Tuesday setting the show room with all of the 2008 Supra and Moomba Models! All of the boats have been taken off of their trailers so they are easier to view and there is much more room inbetween the boats so you can move around much easier!

The Show Room should stay like this until around the Winter Boat Show in February!

Below you'll find new "ski boat" sales market share data for the first six months of 2007 according to Statistical Surveys Inc. Basing their information on boat registration data from 46 states, the Grand Rapids, Michigan firm's data represents 97% of the U.S. market. Their "ski boat" category represents water ski and wakeboard boats.

As you can see from the data in the chart below, Malibu leads the segment for the first six months of 2007 with a market share of 24.8% followed by MasterCraft with a 21.67% market share and Correct Craft with 13.31% market share.

A comparison of the YTD market share numbers between the first half of 2006 and the first half of 2007 illustrates the increase or decrease in the market share for each brand according to SSI. Malibu's share was down slightly with a 1.46% decrease in its market share lead. Both Skier's Choice brands, Moomba and Supra, had the most impressive market share increases with 11.1% and 12.66% respectively. The biggest market share dip of the larger brands belongs to Sanger with a 18.76% decrease.

1 Year Old Wakeboarder

I received and e-mail from our friends Matt and Anita Brown that I wanted to share!

Matt is the Supra/Moomba Product Manager at Skier's Choice, and he and his wife have been personal friends with us for quite some time now. They have a little boy named Benji, and just like his dad, Benji couldn't wait to get on a wakeboard! So, on his first birthday (September 1st, 2007), Benji wakeboarded! He did really well and loved every minute of it! Matt helped while Anita put the boat in gear, and Benji rode until the boat stopped!

Avery and Tish are both at home now and resting comfortably!

We checked in the hospital on Tuesday, October 2nd at 10pm. Avery was born on Wednesday, October 3rd at 8:08pm, and we went home on Friday, October 5th, at noon!

The 2008 Gravity Supra is Here!

A new week has brought us new boats. Waterski Boats Dallas has received 5 New 2008 Supra and Moomba Boats this week! One of those boats is the much anticipated 2008 Supra Launch 24SSV Gravity Games Edition.

Supra has stepped away from their conserative graphics this year! The Supra and Moomba Gravity Games Editions, and the Supra Worlds Editions will have the new, larger rear graphics and new background logos along with the sponsor logos!

The Supra Gravity Games Edition also comes with the 340 HP EXCAT Indmar Engine, Z5 Cargo Top, Custom Upholstery and Custom Trailer as standard features.

100 Hour/Winterization Coupon

Well, things are finally beginning to slow down here at Waterski Boats Dallas. The next few weeks are generally known as an in between period in the wakeboarding world. This is the time of year where Summer is coming to a close and fall is right around the corner…September 23rd to be exact.

Since the kids have returned to school, the lakes are much quieter than they were just a few weeks ago. Cooler temperatures and earlier sunsets hinder the ability to catch those after-work wakeboarding sets. The local major events are over, and only a few smaller events still linger down in Florida.

We usually have about two or three weeks here at the dealership where we can catch up on things and make the annual transition from one year to the next. The sales guys are closing out the remaining 2007 boats and are busy studying the 2008 models. The pro shop has a few remaining items on clearance (including brand new wakeboards in the plastic starting at $99.99!) and the service guys are finishing up their last few big projects and stocking the shelves for the upcoming winterization season.

The winterization season is coming and we typically see two types of customers. There is the customer that prepares for the winter and, once he knows that he is finished using the boat for the season, goes ahead and schedules an appointment to have his boat Winterized. Then there is the customer that waits until there is a freeze in the forecast, and then decides to bring the boat in, unannounced. We try to do all service by appointment only so our service guys know exactly what is going on and we do not get our lot over crowded with boats. Therefore, we try to award those that take the time to be prepared.

Each year, we send out a letter to our customers which has an enclosed Winterization Coupon. The coupon is good thru November 17th, 2007, and will grant you 10% off of the Winterization of your direct drive or v-drive inboard boat. (As a courtesy, you may now print out the coupon online!)

We also run a 100 Hour/Winterization Special. Most boats need their 100 Hour Service at the time of Winterization, so we offer a “receive a free Winterization with a 100 Hour Service” special. You may print out this coupon online as well, and the offer is valid thru October 31, 2007.
